Sambalpur: A two-member team of specialist doctors from National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), New Delhi, arrived here to take stock of the situation emerged out of spread of jaundice and suggest Odisha’s Health department about measures to control the water-borne disease.

The team comprising of Dr Bikram Katchu and Dr Amol Patil visited the Sadar Hospital and is planning to visit affected areas and collect water samples.

“We will try to find out the exact cause of the disease and suggest steps so that it doesn’t spread further,” Dr Katchu told mediapersons.

Sources said till December 16, as many as 15 people have died of the disease and 1140 were affected in Sambalpur.
