Cuttack: With the number of infant deaths mounting to 26 at the Sishu Bhavan in Cuttack in last four days, politics have gained momentum over the issue. The issue was raised in the Assembly today and both Congress and BJP have demanded for a high level probe into the matter. Moreover, both the parties have also demanded the resignation of the Health minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak.

Notably, amidst rising infant death toll at Sishu Bhawan in Cuttak a team of State Congress visited the paediatric centre to review the situation. The Congress team led by party president Prasad Harichandan visited the hospital to take stock of the facilities by visiting each of the wards.

Similarly, a team led by BJP Legislative Party leader Basant Panda also met the hospital authorities today. BJP legislators Radharani Panda and Pradip Purohit were also in the team.
