Cuttack: District child line officials on Monday rescued four minor boys from the railway station while they were attempting to take them to some other place to work as labourers.

The rescued boys are identified as resident of Kankadapada area in Keonjhar district.

Narayan Shukla, a child line official said, “We got a phone call saying a middleman is waiting with four minor boys at the railway station. After being informed, we rushed to the station and rescued them.”

“The middleman was identified as Krushna Chandra Biswal of Jagatsinghpur district who was trying to take the boys to Erasama area in the district,” Shukla added.

“We are going to Erasama with Biswal for paddy cutting,” a rescued boy said.

“I work in Keonjhar and the two boys work at my shop. When I said I will visit my village Chandapur, two-kilometers away from Erasama in Jagatshingpur for paddy cutting, they said to come with me. So, I brought them with me,” said Biswal, the middleman.

Meanwhile, a complaint in this regard has been filed with Cuttack railway police and Biswal taken into police custody.
