Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday directed concerned departments to expedite construction work of left bank canal of Rengali Irrigation Project.

In a review meeting here, the chief minister advised the officials to complete recruitment of required staff for the project and land acquisition process.

In the first phase, 79 km of the left bank canal of the irrigation project has been completed.

A total of 4,015 hectare farm land has been irrigated due to the project. It was revealed in the meeting another 6,100 hectare will be irrigated by January 2016.
