Bhubaneswar: In a dramatic mode, the Economic Offence Wing (EOW) of Odisha Crime Branch on Monday arrested a Noida-based realtor allegedly involved in land fraud in Odisha.

Chairman and managing director of Brys Group Rahul Gaur, who is an accused of cheating a businessman of Rs 18 crore by allegedly selling him a 3.5 acres of disputed land near Pahala on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar, was caught by the CB team from his room which he locked from inside.

He will be produced before a Noida court on Tuesday and then taken to Bhubaneswar on a transit remand, police said. On October 30, the Odisha Crime Branch registered a cheating case against Gaur based on a complaint by Saranpal Singh Sethy, a real estate developer in Delhi.

A three-member team of EOW, led by a DSP, reached Gaur's house in Monday morning with the help of local police. However, the investigating agency found the house locked but discovered the accused was inside.
