Bhubaneswar: For the upcoming Nabakalebar ‘Rath Yatra’ around 200 special trains will connect Puri, informed Union Petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan today after meeting Union minister of State for Railways Manoj Sinha.

Moreover, passenger amenities will be upgraded at Puri, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Delang, Sakhigopal and Khurdha Road stations, he revealed.

In August last year Chief minister Naveen Patnaik urged Modi to strengthen the railway infrastructure and sought his intervention in plying additional special trains and provision of basic amenities at Bhubaneswar and Puri stations before the Nabakalebar festival in July 2015.

Notably, 50 lakh devotees are likely to throng Puri in view of the festival which is taking place in a gap of 19 years.
