Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma

Celebrity power couple Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma, who usually prefer keeping a low profile, recently made headlines for a rather unusual reason. The duo, along with cricketers Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues, were politely asked to leave a café in New Zealand not for misbehaviour, but because their conversation simply went on for too long!

A Chat That Wouldn’t End

The incident was revealed by Jemimah Rodrigues during an episode of The Bombay Journey on Mashable India’s YouTube channel. Rodrigues recalled how she and Mandhana began chatting with Kohli about batting techniques after seeking his permission. Soon, Anushka joined in, and the casual discussion turned into a marathon session.

“For the first half hour we spoke about cricket,” Rodrigues shared. “Virat even told Smriti and me that we both have the power to change women’s cricket. Then the talk shifted to life. It felt like old friends catching up.”

Their animated conversation lasted for over four hours until the café staff finally had to ask them to leave. Rodrigues laughed, saying, “The only reason we stopped was because the café kicked us out.”

About the Couple

Virat and Anushka began dating in 2013 after meeting on a commercial shoot and tied the knot in Italy in December 2017. They welcomed daughter Vamika in 2021 and son Akaay in February 2024. The family is believed to have shifted base to London, and the couple continues to maintain a strict no-photo policy for their children.
