Bhubaneswar: As many as 300 people were tested positive for Covid-19 in Odisha in the last 24 hours, while four patients died while undergoing treatment at various hospitals during the period, as per the data revealed by the State Health department.

With the fresh cases, the total coronavirus tally in the State rose to 324389 while the death toll mounted to 1815.

Of the fresh cases, 174 are reported in quarantine centres while 126 positives are local contacts. Angul district recorded the highest 44 new cases, followed by Khordha (36), Cuttack (20), Mayurbhanj (17) and Balasore (14), as per State Information and Public Relations (I&PR) department.

As per the data by the State Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) department, while Keonjhar and Nabarangpur district reported two deaths, one each died in Deogarh, Bhadrak, Nayagarh, Rayagada and Sonepur districts.

The Health department has also shared the details of the patients who succumbed while under treatment at hospitals during the period.

A 59-year-old male of Jagatsinghpur district.

A 60-year-old male of Mayurbhanja district who was also suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease and Anaemia.

A 64-year-old male of Mayurbhanj district who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus and  Hypertension and Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

A 40-year-old male of Sambalpur District.

So far, 319458 patients have recuperated from the disease in the State, while the active case count stands at 3063. A total of 27690 samples were tested in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative tests to 6437365 in Odisha.
