Bhubaneswar: In the last 24 hours, Odisha reported 356 fresh Covid-19 cases taking the total tally to 3,25,861 on Saturday.  Of the fresh cases, 199 are from quarantine and 157 are local contact cases, informed Information & Public Relations Department.

None of the districts reported more than 50 cases. Khordha registered the highest 41 cases followed by Sundargarh (35), Mayurbhanj and Angul (29 each), Balasore (26), Sambalpur (25) and Puri (20). According to I&PR data, all other districts reported less than 20 cases in the past 24 hours.

As per State Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) Department, the death toll jumped to 1832 with three more fatalities in the last 24 hours. One death each was reported from Jagatsinghpur, Puri and Nuapada districts.

The health department has also shared the details of the Covid-19 patients who succumbed while under treatment at hospitals during the period.

A 82-year-old male of Jagatsinghpur district who was also suffering from Hypertension.

A 78-year-old female of Puri district who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus and Hypertension.

A 75-year-old male of Nuapada district.

A total of 33,067 samples were tested in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative tests to 65,69,279 in Odisha. After today’s surge, the State’s active caseload stood at 3,029 while 3,20,947 patients have so far recovered from the infection.
