Bolangir: It seems there is more into the story of Bolangir girl Pratima Sahoo eloping to Pakistan and marrying there. Investigations of police after a missing complaint was registered by the family members of the girl revealed the ashram which Pratima was associated with has been running illegally.
The cops detained Premalata Jena, the head of the ashram. Sources said the investigators also seized her passport and Pakistani visa in which there is a seal of permission for her to land in Pakistani city Layyah.
In related development, a religious organisation based at Laltickra here brought allegations against Premalata saying that the later has been running the fictitious ashram.
Brahmakumari Usha, head of Bolangir branch of the organisation, lodged a complaint with the police regarding this and submitted papers showing that Premalats was suspended from the religious body in 2004 due to involvement in immoral activities.
Tariq Ahmad, IIC of Bolangir Town said, “We have registered another case against Premlata on the basis of the papers submitted by Brahmakumari Usha.”
Notably, a fortnight ago, Pratima went to Layyah on a 90-day tourist visa, converted to Islam and got married to Pakistani national in a local mosque.
