Bhubaneswar: The people have received a brief respite from the grueling heat in the mid April as the State witnessed a mild rainfall on Monday morning due to the effect of trough line over Odisha coast.

The temperature at many places including hottest Titilagarh and Jahrsuguda dipped a little following rain. The whole of western Odisha witnessed a hailstorm and thundershower the day before yesterday.

Many places in northern Odisha including Cuttack and Bhubaneswar received showers this morning following which decrease in day temperature has been observed, Met department said, adding the mercury will go up again within two days.

The weather department has recorded less than 40 degree temperature at many places including Malkangiri and parts of Northern Odisha. Parts of Bhadrak and Balasore recorded 12 mm rain today due to trough line, met department said.
