Cuttack: The matric ex-regular and Sanskrit madhyama examination kicked off from today. Over 51,000 candidates are facing the test in the new format announced by Board of Secondary Education (BSE).

BSE has made elaborate security arrangements to guard the question booklets at 305 nodal centres where the papers are stored. The district administration and police have been asked to cooperate in the examination.

The exam for ex-regular students will conclude on March 11 while Sanskrit madhyama pupils will attend their last paper on March 13.
