Maoists torch vehicles of contractor in Korpaut

Koraput: Armed Maoists attacked a contractor’s camp in Ganjeipadar village under Pottangi block of Korpaut district and torched three vehicles including a JCB machine on Thursday night.

Around 50 ultras attacked the camp of the contractor who was engaged with construction of a road. Source said the ultras have also damaged 15 equipments used for construction of roads.

Before leaving the area, the Maoists have left two posters and a threatening message.

Pradeep Padhi, the contractor told mediaperson, "I am unable to contact my people there as the incident occurred in a remote area. They have left the place with two posters and a threatening message while asking to stop widening the road."
