Narayanpatna: All communication came to a grinding halt today in Narayanpatna due to a bandh called by CPI (Maoists). Members of the extremist group blocked major connecting roads by felling trees and placing wooden logs on roads. While posters and banners were found on several sites, no communication could be established between Narayanpatna and Koraput, and Parvatipuram in Andhra Pradesh.

Through poster messages the Maoists demanded the closure of green hunt, release of political prisoners from Koraput jail, closure of combing operation by police and removal of police camps from the area.
