Cuttack: Labour room tragedy has again struck the SCB Medical College and Hospital here as one more woman died after falling from labour room bed at the gynaechology department last night. Earlier two months ago one expectant woman had died in the medical in a similar incident.

Health Minister Prasanna Acharya has asked the SCB Medical authorities to submit a report on the incident.

Rasmita Sahoo from Balipatna of Jajpur district was admitted to SCB medical on Saturday and taken to labour room on Sunday night. Soon after the delivery, family members of Rasmita were informed that she had delivered a dead child. When they entered into the labour room to see her condition, they found Rasmita screaming in pain on the floor after falling from bed. Tension mounted up soon after the incident in the gynechology ward when Rasmita`s family members alleged that doctors` negligence caused her death.
