Kosagumuda Minor Girl Was Not Raped, But Killed Over One-Sided Love Affair: Police

Nabarangpur: Police today confirmed that the minor girl in Kosagumuda area of Nabarangpur district was not raped, but murdered over one-sided love affair. While briefing media persons, the Nabarangpur SP also said that two persons have been arrested in connection with the murder.

The two arrested accused have been identified as Khadi Bhadra from Kotpad in Koraput district and Bali Majhi of Kosagumuda.

SP Nitin Kusalkar said, "The accused have confessed to the crime. But the case is still open and we are trying to ascertain if others are involved."

"There was no rape as the post-mortem report rightly suggested. They murdered her over a failed one-sided love affair. One of the accused had proposed to marry her multiple times but was rejected each time by the girl," informed Kusalkar.

It was earlier alleged that the minor girl was gang raped and murdered after her body was found from a field near her house.
