Bhubaneswar: Kings XI Punjab team, which has chosen Barabati stadium in Cuttack as its home ground, has arrived in Bhubaneswar today ahead of its two matches of the Indian Premier League (IPL) to be played at the stadium.

The players were taken to the hotel from the airport amid tight security where they were given a warm welcome. Punjab will take on Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders on May 7 and 11, respectively.

For all the matches, the Commissionerate Police appeared to be on their toes to provide full-proof security. Recently, police held meetings with OCA and IPL match organizers on security matters.

Twin Cities police commissioner R P Sharma who made a stocktaking visit to the Stadium recently also held a high-level meeting with the OCA and Kings XI Punjab management on the following day. Police sources said as many as 35 platoons of police forces will be deployed for three layers of security.
