Bhubaneswar: Jnanpith Award winner and eminent Odia writer Pratibha Ray’s husband Akshaya Chandra Ray passed away here on Friday. He was 77.

An engineer by profession, Akshaya was undergoing treatment at a private hospital here due to prolonged illness. Though he was discharged from the hospital yesterday, he was readmitted to the hospital after his condition deteriorated, sources said.
