Bolangir: Police on Tuesday recovered a decomposed body from a lodge in Bolangir. The deceased has been identified as Gokulananda Bhoi, who was a Forest department clerk in Boudh division.

As per reports, Gokulananda, who used to stay frequently at the lodge for his treatment, had checked into the lodge on June 7. However, Gokulananda didn't come out of his room for two days triggering suspicion among lodge staffs. Later, the manager of the lodge informed the matter to Town Police after which a police team reached the spot and prised open the door to recover the body, said sources.

"He had kidney and blood sugar problems for which he used to come to Bolangir frequently for his treatment and this time also he was here for treatment," said one of his relatives.

"In presence of others, we broke open the door and found the body lying on the bed. Probably the death occurred 2-3 days back. The reason of death can be ascertained after receiving the post-mortem report," said Inspector-In-Charge of Bolangir Town Police Station, Toofan Bag.
