Bolangir: Director-general of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Prakash Mishra today visited Khaprakhol in the district to review the Maoists situation here and took stock of para-military force’s operations in the area.
According to reports, Mishra visited the CRPF camp at Harishankar this morning, where he inspected the state of affairs and discussed the Maoist-related issues with the jawans deployed there.
Speaking to mediapersons during the visit, Mishra said there is a need of further deployment of CRPF jawans here as the present situation demands it.
It may be noted here that Mishra, during one of his earlier visits, had told that the Maoists menace have come down significantly and the situation is under control to a great extent in southern part of the State.
The CRPF will focus on Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand where violence by Left wing extremists is still a concern, the DG had told during his previous visit to the State.
