Bhubaneswar: Ahead of general polls, top four state Congress leaders on Thursday were busy here with planning out strategies on how to face ruling Biju Janta Dal (BJD) in the ensuing polls.
The party's four leaders - Chiranjibi Biswal, Ranjib Biswal, Prasad Harichandan and Lulu Mohapatra - discussed on the recent exodus from Congress in the meeting.
"Those who are leaving the party are because of their interests. Similarly, leaders who are accepting it are equally responsible for the trend. We will let the party high command know about the outcome of this meeting," said Lulu Mohapatra, senior Congress leader.
Meanwhile, he denied about any plans to leave the party.
"Party hopping is not uncommon when elections are around the corner. But we are worried about senior leaders quitting the party," said Prasad Harichandan, another senior Congress leader.
In today's meeting the four leaders also did an analysis about the political scenario in the state.
