Cong holds PEC meeting to finalise candidates

New Delhi: As the general elections draw nearer, State Congress is running through a hectic schedule to finalise party candidates for the Assembly polls. The Pradesh Election Committee (PEC) of the party has convened a meeting at India International centre here where top state leaders are brainstorming on the selection of strong candidates for 147 Assembly seats.

According to sources, the PEC will recommend three names coming from blocks and district level for each constituency to the screening committee. Later, the screening committee will give its final report to the Central Election Committee.
