Bhubaneswar: A 26-year-old girl from Bolangir district, who scripted a cross-border love story with a man from Pakistan on social networking site Facebook, has finally flown to the neigbouring nation to tie the knot.

Pramita Sahoo, who reached Pakistan last week on a 90-day tourist visa, married 32-year-old Mohammed Mansha after she was converted to Islam by a cleric who gave her the new name, Begum Maryam.

Pratima had stumbled upon the profile of Mansha, a resident of Layyah, a district in Pakistan’s Punjab province, 460 km south of Islamabad, and this is how the duo established contacts which turned into love within months.

But the circumstances back home are not normal as Pratima, who was associated with a religious organisation for the last 10 years and observing celibacy, kept her family in dark about her love affair as well as the decision to go to Pakistan.
