Youth hangs self with 'dupatta' in front of girlfriend

Bhubaneswar: In a disturbing incident, a youth hanged himself with the 'dupatta' of his lover at Jayadev Vatika near Khandagiri in Bhubaneswar today.

The deceased youth has been identified as Sasikant Panda of Balasore district. He was working at a private bank in Bhubaneswar.

Police seized the body and detained the girl, who reportedly works as a security guard, for interrogation.

During interrogation, the girl has reportedly admitted that she and Panda mutually decided to commit suicide and she gave him her 'dupatta' to hang himself first.

"Panda hanged himself in front of the girl following which she started shouting for help. We are yet to know the actual reason behind the suicide. Our interrogation is on," said a police official.
