Bhubaneswar: A woman attempted suicide in front of Chief Minister's Grievance Cell in Bhubaneswar today alleging police inaction on her complaints.

The woman identified as a resident of Nirakarpur area in Khurda district attempted suicide by hanging herself from a tree.

The woman was rescued by police and some locals. Later, she was taken to Capital Police Station.

"I saw a woman trying to hang herself from a tree. Initially, I thought her to be mentally-challenged. Later, along with the lady cops we rescued her. Police reached the spot and took her into custody," said an onlooker.
