Stray dogs eat newborn’s corpse as locals look on in Bolangir

Bolangir: In a shocking incident, stray dogs were found eating a newborn’s dead body near Thikadarpada chhak in Bolangir town on Friday.

Though some locals chased away the dogs, the dead body still remained lying on the road unattended.

Eyewitnesses said an unidentified person had thrown the newborn’s corpse at a bridge nearby late last night which was later found to be eaten by the stray dogs this morning.

Indumati Sahu, a resident of the area, said, "As I am residing nearby, I heard the stray dogs barking at around 1-1.30 am. Though I looked outside, I was unable to discern anything. Someone could not understand how can a mother do this to a newborn."
