Bhubaneswar: A contractor has been shot dead allegedly by the Left Wing Extremists (LWE) in Malkangiri district on Friday evening. The deceased has been identified as Purna Dalei, a resident of Chitrakonda of the Maoist-infested district.

The incident has taken place at around 8 pm this evening.

As per reports, as many as 15-20 ultras turned up at Dalei’s place and asked him to accompany them.

Later, the contractor’s corpse was found near Chitrakonda launch ghat.

While the body is still lying at the place of the incident, the reason behind the gruesome incident is yet to be ascertained.
