Bhubaneswar: Veteran Bollywood actor Naseeruddin Shah today said he does not care for awards.

“Neither have I been given awards and nor do I care for them. As far as I know, awards are given through lobbying. They are of no importance in my life,” he said in an exclusive interview to OTV.

The versatile actor, who arrived in the capital city after nearly three decades, said he had come to Odisha for a two-day shooting in Chilika lake.

Talking about his visit to the state, Naseer said he has come here to act in a drama ‘Einstein’. The drama throws light on the life and times of Albert Einstein, the great scientist.

“This drama emphasises the guilt feeling of Einstein in the fag-end of his life that the atom bomb was made using his research. In short, this drama is a ‘plea for peace’ with strong anti-war statements,” he said.

Recounting his association with renowned Ollywood actor Bijay Mohanty, his friend and classmate at the National School of Drama (NSD), Naseer said' "Those were the days of happiness. We were int the prime of our youth and had lots of fun and merriment.

“Bijay is a jovial character with a great sense of humour. He will give you a detailed account on this,” he said.
