Bhubaneswar: The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) sleuths on Thursday seized ganja weighing nearly one tonne with a market value of more than Rs 2 crore while being illegal smuggled into the city.

Acting on a tip-off that narcotics substance was being illegally transported in a truck, the officials of DRI intercepted the vehicle near Khandagiri Square in Bhubaneswar.

The officials have also detained one person and interrogating him to elicit further information.

The ganga was stashed in packets and were hidden behind consignment of dress materials, nuts, oil, etc.

Official sources said, the Ganja was being smuggled from Ichchapuram in Andhra Pradesh to Bhubaneswar and would have been transported to Bihar.
