Bhubaneswar: On the last day of his Odisha tour, BJP President Amit Shah on Thursday slammed BJD government for not being able to usher in development in the State which is rich in natural resources.
The situation under BJD rule is that Odisha is lagging behind in terms of development. Odisha’s development is not possible till Narendra Modi led BJP forms government here, Shah said.
Shah also took a dig at Chief Minister Patnaik for his travel to several parts within Odisha by helicopter.
“Unlike Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, I have travelled nearly 400 kms by road during my 3-day visit. I have read the pulse of people who have faith and love for BJP,” said Shah.
While attending a programme at Basantpur village of the Ekamra Assembly constituency in Khurda, Shah also appealed to BJP Karyakartas (workers) to work hard as per strategy so that the party comes to power in 2019.

“In the 2019 elections, the people of Odisha will dethrone the ruling BJD government out of power,” Shah added.
Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan, state party chief Basant Panda and party general secretary Arun Singh, who is also the BJP's state in-charge also accompanied Shah at the meeting today.
“Odisha’s political history has witnessed several changes in the past even during the Biju Patnaik regime. Amit Shah’s 120 seats mission in Odisha is also not a hollow claim while preparations and efforts have already begun” said Pradhan.
