Puri: After the alleged mismanagement in ‘Brahma Paribartan’ ritual of the deities which attracted criticism from all quarters, the district administration is learnt to have geared up to smoothly conduct the ensuing annual rath yatra falling on July 18.
Sources said the temple administration in a recently held meeting, has asked the daitapatis to co-operate in the festival in which above 10 lakh footfall is expected.
Meanwhile, the four badagrahi (idol protectors) deposed before the temple administration today in connection with the alleged mismanagement and delay in the ‘transfer of spirit’ ritual of the deities.
Sri Jagannath temple administration chief Suresh Mohapatra said, “Action will be taken against the erring daitapatis.”
