Khurdha Road: The East Coast Railway (ECoR) has arranged 84 special trains to/from Puri for the upcoming Rath Yatra.
At a press conference, the ECoR divisional manager SK Singh informed mediapersons that the trains will also run on the occasion of Sandhya Darshan, Bahuda Yatra and Sunavesha. ECoR will also open 35 additional ticket booking counters at the station, he said. This apart, around 4000 makeshift sheds will also be set up for the devotees.
In view of heavy crowds for the spiritual extravaganza, adequate forces of RPF, GRP, home guards and fire brigade personnel will be deployed alongwith special dog squads at Puri station. Besides, 24 CCTV cameras will also be installed at various points of the station, Singh said.
