145 kg ganja seized in Malkangiri

Malkangiri: Intensifying its crackdown on ganja smuggling, Chitrakonda Police seized 145 kilogram ganja, which was being trafficked in a car, at Guntacheda in Malkangiri today.

However, two persons who were transporting the contraband item were able to escape.

Sources said that the ganja was being smuggled to Madhya Pradesh from Papulara of Chirtakonda.

Speaking to media, Chitrakonda Police Station Sub-inspector, Seshadev Behera said "The car did not stop when we intercepted it. It rather changed direction and moved faster. Police followed up the car and subsequently seized the car and found ganja inside."

Meanwhile, Chitrakonda Police has lodged a case regarding the same and investigation is underway.
