Berhampur: A wanted Maoist reportedly belonging to Sabyasachi Panda’s Odisha Maoivadi Party (OMP) was arrested from Richaguda forest under Badagarh Police station in Ganjam district, police said on Sunday.

“A huge cache of explosives, arms and ammunition were seized from the nabbed rebel identified as Kandra Dalabehera”, SP (Ganjam) Ashish Kumar Singh told reporters.

This comes after two Maoists, Bubu Mohapatra of Nayagarh and Agni Palia of Boudh, who had been working with Sabyasahi for a long time, were arrested near Badagada bus stand on last Sunday. Police had seized a bag packed with medicines which was being transported to the Odisha Maobadi Party leader.

Later Bubu had admitted to have accepted the bags from Mili Panda, wife of Sabyasachi Panda, which raised eyebrows about her active involvement with the Maoist outfit. On the other hand, Mili had denied any Maoist link alleging that police conspired against her again to send her jail.
