The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday predicted that cold wave to severe cold wave conditions are likely to prevail in several parts of Odisha in the next two to three days.

As per IMD, north-westerly/ northerly dry and cold wind at lower levels is penetrating over Odisha. Under its influence, isolated cold wave conditions are likely to prevail in some parts of interior and adjoining districts of the State during the next two to three days.

Already several parts of Odisha are reeling under intense cold wave conditions. As many as 13 places in the State recorded minimum (night) temperature below 10 degree Celsius on Sunday night. Daringbadi in Kandhamal district recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 4 degree Celsius.

Warning: Day 1 (Valid up to 0830 hours of 21-12-2021)

Yellow Warning: Isolated cold wave condition is very likely to prevail over the districts of Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Sonepur, Boudh, Kandhamal, Bhadrak, Angul, Dhenkanal, Deogarh and Sambalpur

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hours of 21-12-2021 to 0830 hours of 22-12-2021)

Orange Warning: Isolated cold wave to severe cold wave condition is likely over the districts of Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh and Kandhamal.

Yellow Warning: Isolated cold wave conditions are likely to prevail over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur,Cuttak, Khordha, Nayagarh,Sonepur,Boudh, Bolangir, Nuapada and Kalahandi.

Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hours of 22-12-2021 to 0830 hours of 23-12-2021)

Yellow Warning: Isolated cold wave conditions are very likely to prevail over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Keonjhar, Jajpur, Cuttack, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh and Kandhamal.
