After witnessing incessant rainfall last week, Odisha is all set to get some relief as no major warning for heavy rainfall has been issued by the India Meteorological Department for the next 2 to 3 days. However, some parts of the State are likely to experience heavy rainfall over next 24 hours.

As per IMD’s Regional Centre in Bhubaneswar, Khairmal (Boudh) recorded highest 118.4 mm of rainfall over past 24 hours followed by Harabhanga (Boudh) 111 mm and Binika (Sonepur) recorded 92.1 mm of rainfall. 

“Yesterday’s low pressure area over north Chhattisgarh and neighbourhood now lies over northeast Vidarbha and neighbourhood,” said IMD. Weather forecast and warning: Day-1 (valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 19.07.2022)

Yellow warning( be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nawarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Nayagarh, Boudh, Cuttack, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh.

Day 2 and 3 (From 19 to July 21 (8:30 hrs): No warning

Day-4 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 21.07.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 22.07.2022) Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Bolangir, Boudh, Angul, Kandhamal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj.

Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Ganjam.

Day-5 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 22.07.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 23.07.2022)

Yellow warning( be updated): Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Boudh.
