A low pressure has formed over south Andaman sea and adjoining Thailand coast, said India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday.

As per IMD, the system is likely to move west-northwest wards and concentrate into a Depression over north Andaman sea and adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal by November 15.

“The system is likely to continue to move west-northwest wards, intensify further and reach near Andhra Pradesh coast around November 18, 2021,” IMD said in a release.

Rainfall Warning Associated With The System:

November 13: Light to moderate and heavy rainfall in isolated placed very likely over Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

November 14: Light to moderate and heavy to very heavy rainfall in isolated placed very likely over Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

November 15: Light to moderate and heavy to very heavy rainfall in isolated placed very likely over Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

November 16: No heavy rainfall warning.

November 17: Light to moderate rainfall at most places with heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places likely to occur over coastal Andhra Pradesh and heavy rainfall over south coastal Odisha.

Wind Warning:

- Squally wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph likely to prevail over Andaman Sea and adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal on November 13. It will increase to 45-55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph over the same region on Novermber 14 and 15, 55-65 kmph gusting to 75 kmph over west-central and adjoining east-central Bay of Bengal during November 16 and November 18, 2021.

Squally wind speed reaching 45-55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph is likely to commence and along and off Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha coasts from November 17, 2021.

Sea condition:

Sea condition will be rough to very rough over Andaman Sea and adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal between November 13 and November 15 over west-central and adjoining east-central Bay of Bengal during November 16 and 18 and off Andhra Pradesh, south Odisha coasts on November 17 and November 18, 2021.
