Bhubaneswar:  The vigilance team on Thursday conducted raids on various residences and office of Umakant Mohapatra, Block Development Officer (BDO), Chilika on the charges of possessing wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The raids were conducted simultaneously on Mohapatra’s ancestral house in Ranpur, another house near Mukundprasad bypass square in Khurda, his in-laws’ house in Srinibaspur near Banpur and office in Gangadharpur near Nachuni.

Mohapatra’s house in Khurda alone is estimated to be worth over Rs 50 lakh, sources said.
