Berhampur: With the arrest of four members of a gang belonging to Bihar, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) here today claimed to have busted an inter-state train dacoity racket.

At least four sharp weapons, including two knives, suitcase breaking equipment and tools were recovered from the dacoits arrested yesterday, while they were planning a dacoity near the railway station here.

"While four persons were arrested during a raid in railway station area here, two other gang members managed to escape," said RPF inspector S C Nayak. The accused persons, all are belonging to Dariharpur in Munger district in Bihar, were suspected to be involved in several train robberies, he said.

The arrested persons are identified as Bom Bom Kumar Mandal (25), Natabara Kumar Sahani (19), Niranjan Mandal (38) and Umesh Singh (52), Nayak said.
