Kasargod (Ker): A stray tiger, which had been giving sleepless nights to the people of Madikai panchayat in Kasargod district the last couple of weeks, was captured on Tuesday, forest department sources said.

The tiger, estimated to be about seven years old, was trapped in an iron cage installed at a plot by the Forest Department, around 3 AM, sources said.

A large number of people had queued up to have a glimpse of the animal which had killed some dogs and goats in the area.

Forest Department personnel have taken the tiger to the Wildlife Sanctuary at Muthanga in Wayanad district, they said.
