Snapchat, the popular social media app, hosted its Snap Partner Summit 2023 on April 19 and introduced several new AI features and experiences to improve user engagement and monetization.

Snapchat has added new features to improve user experience, such as new options for signature story formats, Calling Lenses and location-sharing options for the Snap Map, expanded AR try-on features, and a new AI chatbot powered by OpenAI's GPT technology that's now available globally.

New story format options:

Snapchat has added new options to its signature story formats, making it more fun and engaging for the users.

The new options include Music Stories, which allow users to add music to their snaps, and Event Stories, which are curated by Snapchat for specific events such as festivals or sports games.

Additionally, Snapchat has introduced Creator Stories, where creators can post long-form content and monetize their content through ads.

Calling lenses and location sharing:

Snapchat has introduced new Calling Lenses that let users appear together in one frame during video calls without any grid, making it feel like you're in the same room with your friends.

Snapchat has added a new location-sharing feature to the Snap Map that displays landmarks in 3D and allows friends to see each other's Bitmoji when sharing their live location. According to Snapchat, over 1.7 billion Snapchatters use their Bitmoji.

AR try-on features:

Snapchat is expanding its AR try-on features, allowing users to virtually try on products using their camera.

Additionally, they are offering a Fit Finder feature that gives accurate fit and size recommendations for clothing and apparel.

Men's Wearhouse and Nike are using AR Mirrors to improve the in-store shopping experience.

My AI chatbot:

Snapchat has introduced a new AI chatbot, powered by OpenAI's GPT technology, that assesses the severity of potentially harmful content and temporarily restricts access to the service for those who misuse it.

The company is also working to integrate the AI chatbot into its in-app parental tool.
