After winning the toss, Team India captain Rohit Sharma opted to bowl first against Australia in the ongoing World Test Championship Final (WTC) at the Oval in London on Wednesday.

India dropped World No.1 bowler Ravichandran Ashwin to accommodate four pacers in the playing XI. Though Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj troubled Australian batters initially, David Warner (43) countered them well before getting out by Shardul Thakur. Then Travis Head played a counterattacking innings to take Australia 125 for the loss of three wickets as per the latest report.

Former Team India all-rounder and coach Ravi Shastri feels that the pitch will continue to behave in the same manner in most parts of the Test match. As per Shastri, it is a challenging pitch for the baters.

The former Team Director warned India that if Australia manage to score a total of 240, it will be a very good score on the pitch.

“Once the sun comes out, it will be quicker. But the pitch will continue to be a challenging one for the batters. Anything close to 240 by the Australians will be a very good total for India,” said Shastri while doing commentary of the match.
