Following the humiliating defeat of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka’s public outburst against captain KL Rahul has gone viral over various social media platforms.

In response to the thumping defeat, Rahul said that he was at a loss for words after the loss during the post-match presentation. Goenka was seen engaging in an animated chat with LSG skipper Rahul after that. LSG and Rahul’s fans slammed Goenka following the development.

Now, there are speculations that Goenka who is so passionately involved with the game may sack Rahul for the coming session.

Earlier in 2017, Rising Pune Super Giants (RPS) owner Sanjiv Goenka had decided to remove India’s most successful skipper, MS Dhoni, as captain of the IPL team. Subsequently, he handed over the mantle to Australia skipper Steven Smith. It was a decision that received a lot of flak, but Goenka backed his decision then.

Now, with the IPL heading into a mega auction this year, LSG could look to go into the 2025 season with a clean slate and revamp their team. Going by Goenka’s past record, Rahul could very well be released before the auction and could find a new home at the 2025 IPL auction.
