After a brilliant debut in the 2024 session of the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL), pace sensation Mayank Yadav has gone into silence.

The 22-year-old young pace sensation from Delhi, who captured the attention of several fans and experts with his sensational speed and accuracy, has not taken the field since the conclusion of the tournament.

Yadav consistently bowled over 150 kmph mark in the four matches he played in IPL 2024 and put many experienced batters into trouble. In his debut against PBKS, Mayank bowled 155.8 kmph. He captured three crucial wickets including Jonny Bairstow and Prabhsimran Singh.

He was instrumental in LSG’s win in that match. He also continued to impress against RCB by reaching a speed of 156.7 kmph which was the fastest delivery in IPL 2024.

Despite his early success, Yadav has been absent from the field since then. Now, fans are intrigued by the question that where is Mayank now and when he will play for India?

In response, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah informed that Mayank is currently undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. He has been advised to gradually work his way back to full fitness.

“I cannot give you any answer on Mayank Yadav as there is no guarantee whether he will be in the team or not. But he is potentially a good fast bowler, and we are looking after him. He is currently at the NCA,” said Shah.
