The Men in Blue ended their 2022 year with a Test series win in Bangladesh to solidify their chances of making it to the final of the World Test Championship. Though the Indian side is currently sitting in second place in the World Test Championship 2021-2023 standings, they had a forgettable year mainly because of Asia Cup and T20 World Cup debacle.

Meanwhile, as per legendry cricketer Sunil Gavaskar, the biggest positive for team India is Ishan Kishan. The Little Master has made a big prediction about the young talent. In a recent interview, Gavaskar hailed Kishan who had played a historic knock of 210 against Bangladesh in the 3rd ODI match of the tour.

In the process, the flamboyant batsman broke several records as he became just the fourth Indian batter to achieve that feat. He joined the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, and Rohit Sharma in the elite list. Batting with a strike rate of 160.31, Kishan played a blistering knock of 210 runs off 131 balls with the help of 24 fours and 10 sixes.

Hailing Kishan, Gavaskar said that had he continued batting in that game, he would have also scored the first-ever triple century in the 50 over format.

“When we see the younger players coming through, it means there is hope for the future. Ishan has this terrific ability to play all around the ground.  A double ton is an amazing achievement at such a young age. So I think sky is the limit for him as far as the white-ball cricket is concerned,” said Gavaskar.
