Who can forget the heartbreaking World Cup loss to Australia? The hopes of billions of Indians to lift the World Cup 2023 were shattered after the ‘Men in Blue’ suffered a humiliating loss to the Aussies.

India opener Shubman Gill on New Year shared that he was heartbroken, but promised to give his all in 2024 and make it a memorable year. On Sunday, he shared a handwritten note, his resolution that he had set for 2023, and said that the year was full of new experiences.

His 2023 resolution was to make most hundreds for India, make his family happy, give his career-best performance and be less hard on himself, and win the World Cup for India.

Although some of his resolutions for 2023 were fulfilled, the wish to win the World Cup for India was dashed to the ground. So, Gill on New Year’s Day took to his Instagram handle and shared a saddening yet adorable note for himself and his fans.

“Exactly a year ago, I put it out into the universe. With 2023 coming to an end, the year has been full of experiences, some great fun and other great learning. The end of the year didn’t go as planned, but I can proudly say we came ever so close to our goals, giving everything we had. The coming year brings its own challenges and opportunities,” the star batsman wrote.

“Hopefully, we’ll get closer to our goals in 2024. I hope all of you find love, joy, and strength in everything you do ❤️” he added.

Meanwhile, Gill is expected to captain the Gujarat Titans (GT) after the exit of Hardik Pandya in the upcoming IPL 2024.
