If reports are to be believed, popular IPL franchise RCB is reportedly planning to change its name with just a week to go for the Indian Premier League 2024. The management is allegedly trying to get rid of the world ‘Bangalore’ from the name of the franchise.

Well, there is nothing to worry for RCB fans. In all likeliness, the franchise is only planning to change the ‘Bangalore’ word with ‘Bengaluru’ the new name of the IT Hub of the country.

Since the beginning of IPL, RCB has been a very popular franchise with several high profile players including Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers in its team. Since the beginning of IPL, Royal Challengers Bangalore has remained the franchise’s name despite the city’s name change to Bengaluru.

While Bangalore was changed to Bengaluru in 2014, the team continued with the title of Royal Challengers Bangalore. However, with the IPL 2024 approaching soon, the management has finally decided to change its name, NDTV reports said.

However, the name change will bring some luck to the team that has never won any IPL trophy. Hopefully, the name change would bring some good fortunes for the Virat Kohli-led team. Earlier, Punjab Kings had changed its name to Kings XI Punjab, but that didn’t change their fate.

Even the Delhi Capitals, earlier known as Delhi Daredevils, changed their name, but they too haven’t been able to win an IPL trophy till now.
