Mumbai emerged champions of the Ranji Trophy 2023-24 after beating Vidarbha by 169 runs in the final at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday. Mumbai emerged champions for the 42nd time in the prestigious domestic tournament.

Despite battling a back issue, Mumbai batter Shreyas Iyer’s resilience shone brightly as he celebrated Mumbai’s victory with a spirited dance on the field. His commitment to the game and unwavering enthusiasm endeared him to fans and teammates alike.

The video of the incident has gone viral over various social media platforms. It has so far garnered around 40 k likes on social media platform X (earlier known as Twitter).

Several fans have flooded the comment box with interesting comments.

In response to the video, a fan wrote, “Don’t trust fake media. He will play. He is fit! Just minor issue.”

“Same IPL m bhi hoga,” tweeted another fan.

Responding to the video, a third user commented, “What happened to back injury?”

Notably, Iyer has once again aggravated his back injury during his impressive 95-run innings in the second innings of the Ranji Trophy final.

This recurring issue, for which the Mumbai batsman underwent surgery last year, has now cast doubt over his participation in the early stages of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season. He is set to lead the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), but with just nine days to go before KKR play their first match of the season, uncertainty surrounds Iyer’s participation for the first few matches.
