Rivaba Jadeja, the wife of India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, on Thursday won with over 57 per cent vote share from Janmanagar North constituency in the recently-concluded Gujarat Assembly Elections.

Rivaba was born to Hardev Singh Solanki, a businessman and Prafullaba Solanki, an employee of the Indian Railways. She is also the niece of Congress politician Hari Singh Solanki. However, she joined BJP in 2019 although her in-laws are mostly Congress supporters.

According to sources, Ravindra Jadeja’s family was keen on getting him married soon. However, the star batsman wasn’t interested in marriage and would always brush aside the topic.

However, Jadeja’s sister is a friend of his wife and insisted him to meet her once at a party. Reluctantly, the cricketer agreed and was mesmerized by her beauty and it was love at first sight for the couple.

The duo hit it off instantly and started their relationship. After dating for a few years, they officially got engaged on 5th February 2016 at Jaddu’s Food Field, a restaurant owned by Jadeja himself.

The couple then chose to tie the knot the same year. Only a couple of months after their engagement, they decided to get married and tied the knot on 17 April. The royal wedding was a private ceremony with only close friends and family.

The couple is now proud parents to an adorable daughter, Nidhyana. Being private persons, they do not share their personal lives on social media. Being a sports lover, Jadeja spends most of his free time at his farmhouse riding horse and watching his dogs play.

Similarly, Riva who stays busy with her election works, is also seen cheering for her husband at the stadiums. During an interview, she had revealed that she had little to no interest in cricket. But, she makes sure not to miss a single game after marrying Jadeja.
