Mumbai’s swashbuckling batsman Prithvi Shaw marked a stunning return to the cricket field with a stellar performance in the ongoing Ranji Trophy clash against Chattisgarh in Raipur.

After recovering from a knee injury sustained during his County stint with Northamptonshire last year, Shaw showed his attacking prowess by smashing a remarkable 159 off 185 balls with the help of 18 fours and three sixes.

Following his return to the limelight again, Shaw was asked about his future goal. In response, Shaw asserted that his primary focus currently lies in clinching the Ranji Trophy with Mumbai.

“I’m focused on the present and not looking too far ahead. I’m just happy to be back playing cricket after my injury. I want to give my best, aiming to win the Ranji Trophy for Mumbai. I’ll contribute as much as I can towards that goal,” said Shaw during an interaction.

Shaw is also determined to continue his impressive form leading up to the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He had a dismal performance in IPL 2023.

Notably, Shaw was once considered as the future of Indian cricket. However, he has gone into a kind of oblivion from international cricket due to his inconsistent form.
